Same family, different job
Hartville quotes. Kids World sells.
Kids World Play Systems is the sister company of Hartville Outdoor Products, and the two sit side by side on West Maple Street in Hartville. Hartville sells buildings that are quoted and financed, so its site never shows a price. Kids World is the opposite: a real online store with prices, sale badges, a cart and a checkout.
That makes this a true ecommerce SEO problem. Every product page has to rank, persuade and close, often on swing sets that cost more than a used car. And a lot of the catalog still needs a conversation, so the store runs two buying paths side by side.
- In stock products go straight to the cart: add to cart, express checkout, delivery booked.
- Available to order products go to a person, so big custom orders get a real conversation.
Where it started
Seven years and still building.
We took over Kids World Play Systems in September 2019, at the same time as Hartville Outdoor Products. We rebuilt the store and launched it in July 2020, just as the world moved its shopping online, and families looking for something to do in the backyard found a website ready to take their order.
The rankings grew steadily for five years and slid through the winter of 2024. Then, in the spring of 2025, we put Kids World on the full SEO program, the same system that grew Hartville Outdoor Products. Since then the store has more than tripled its ranking keywords, multiplied its top-three positions by fourteen, and in July 2026 it peaked at 20,000 users in a single month.

The build
A store built like the showroom.
Families shop for swing sets the way they shop for cars. They compare, they ask questions, and they want to know someone local stands behind it. Every template was built to answer those questions before the shopper has to ask.
A homepage that sells by category
The header puts the four things shoppers want on every page: call Hartville, call Medina, request a quote and see financing. Below the banner, the homepage runs like a walk through the showroom: shop by product type, the top selling swing sets, split content sections on each product line, current specials, the latest articles, a showroom tour, both locations and customer reviews.
Every section ends in a path to a product, a category or a person, so nobody hits a dead end.
Category pages with a local engine
In Stock Swing Sets 2026 opens on an aerial photo of the lot and a promise bar: over 200 swing sets in stock and ready for delivery, with 60 months of 0% financing. Then the grid, with prices and sale badges on every product, a trust band covering materials, guarantees and delivery, and a block of copy written to win swing set searches in Cleveland and Akron.
That last block is what lets a national product category rank for a local family searching from Medina or Canton.
Product pages built to grow the cart
Product pages lead with the price, the sale and the button. Express checkout sits right under it, and a Complete Your Swing Set section offers the safety mulch and borders a family will need anyway, which lifts the order before checkout.
Below that, a delivery band, quick tabs for the description, specifications, FAQs and reviews, a full product write-up, financing, and real customer reviews naming the staff who helped them.
What moved the needle
Ecommerce SEO for a backyard store.
Big national retailers sell the same swing sets, trampolines and hoops. A family store in Ohio cannot outspend them, so it has to out-answer them and out-local them.
Geo-tagged images
Blog photos carry Ohio city captions, from Akron and Warren to Youngstown, Dublin and Bowling Green, so every image adds local relevance.
A resource center
The Backyard Fun Resource Center organizes every article by swing sets, trampolines, basketball and playground safety, with shop links beside each group.
Local category copy
Category pages carry copy written for Cleveland and Akron shoppers, tying national products to two real showrooms.
Two buying paths
In stock products sell online. Made-to-order products route to a call or a quote, so nothing big gets lost in a cart.
Add-ons on every set
Mulch, borders and installation offered on the product page, where the decision is being made.
Sale pages that rank
Seasonal specials from spring to Labor Day get their own pages and popups, built to rank and sell during the window.
The results
Top-three rankings up fourteenfold.
In April 2025 Kids World ranked for 2,606 keywords, with 15 in Google’s top three. By July 2026 it ranked for 8,996, and by August 220 sat in the top three. That July, the store peaked at 20,000 users in a single month. We lead with rankings because they are measured, not estimated, and they are what a store owner can actually check.

The content engine
The Backyard Fun Resource Center.
Parents don’t start by searching for a swing set model number. They search for how far apart swings should be, how high a swing set should sit, how to take apart a trampoline before a move, or how to build a backyard basketball court.
The resource center answers those questions in long-form articles with real photos, then hands the reader to the right category with a shop link in the margin. Each answer brings a family into the store months before they are ready to buy.
Articles that rank and travel
How To Take Apart A Trampoline is a typical example: a full walkthrough with real photos, each captioned with an Ohio city, and a closing link back to the store. Articles like this are the pages AI assistants now quote most.
AI search
Cited by AI 9,599 times.
Microsoft Clarity tracks how often AI assistants cite a site in their answers. Kids World has earned 9,599 citations and a 22.38% share of every citation across the questions it appears in. Across the questions where Kids World shows up, more than one in five citations point back to its pages.

Those citations are turning into visits. Clarity counts 98 sessions referred by AI tools, and Google Analytics now reports AI Assistant as its own traffic channel for Kids World, with 84 sessions in the last 12 months. It is small today. So was organic search once.
The partnership
Seven years. One team.
Our average client relationship runs about three years. Kids World Play Systems is past seven, and the same team runs the store, the sale campaigns and the search program. Off-page SEO and video run through Studio 23 Group, part of the Best Website Builder Group network.
Next up is a full rebuild on Divi 5 that carries years of SEO copy into a faster, more visual store, with a mega menu that lets families browse by product type, use, age range and features.
