Daycare website design
Daycare website design: Mustard Seed Kidz
A Christian preschool, rebuilt around the parent's journey.
This daycare website design case study follows Mustard Seed Kidz, a faith-based preschool in West Melbourne, Florida, caring for children from six weeks to twelve years since 2009. We researched the local market, designed every page around the way parents choose child care, and launched the new site on October 1, 2026.

Where it started
A trusted school with an outdated front door.
Mustard Seed Kidz has been part of West Melbourne since 2009. A family owned, licensed child care center and Florida VPK provider, open weekdays from 6:30 to 6:00, where nine in ten families come from Palm Bay, Melbourne and West Melbourne.
Parents searching for child care usually visit two or three schools before they choose, and the first visit almost always happens online. The old site did not show what made Mustard Seed different: the teachers who learn a child’s name in the first hour, the faith woven through every day, the calm of the infant room.
The owner wanted a site that looked as warm and trustworthy as the school felt in person, and that turned interested parents into scheduled tours.

Today
The design
Designed the way parents choose.
Choosing child care is one of the biggest decisions a young family makes. The site follows the questions a parent asks, in the order they ask them, and never leaves them without a next step.
Research before a single pixel
Before we designed anything, we wrote an executive web design report. It covered our discovery conversation with the owner, a design study of the schools he admired, and competitive research on three local preschools: their design, their website features, and how they performed in search.
Those benchmark sites shared a pattern. A big, real photo of children up front, warm colors, and a clear path to a tour. We kept what worked, fixed what did not, and set out exactly what Mustard Seed needed to stand apart.
- A full design report before the first mockup.
- Three local benchmarks studied for design, features and search.

The parent journey, section by section
The homepage opens with a real photo and a promise in plain words, then answers what every parent wants to know. Is it safe and licensed? Which room is right for my child? What do they actually learn? What does a full day look like, hour by hour? Can I trust them?
Every section ends in an action: schedule a tour, join the waitlist, or go one level deeper. A green trust bar carries the facts parents check, from serving Brevard families since 2009 to Florida VPK and the hours the doors are open.
Tuition, made simple
Tuition is where many preschool sites lose parents, either by hiding it or burying it in fine print. Mustard Seed’s tuition page leads with what is included: breakfast, lunch and snack every day, the full faith-based curriculum with S.T.E.A.M. projects, 11.5 hour days and small groups with instructor coaches.
Full-time weekly rates are laid out clearly, free VPK is called out for eligible four year olds, and part-time schedules invite parents to contact the school. Clear and honest, with a tour button never more than a scroll away.
Real people, real rooms
Every photo on the site is the real campus and the real children, uploaded with SEO filenames, alongside a modernized version of the school’s tree logo. The daily schedules on each room page are the school’s actual schedules, and the reviews are real Google reviews from Mustard Seed parents.
The result looks and feels like the school, because it is the school.
The playbook
Daycare website design that books tours.
A preschool website has one job above all others: get a parent through the door for a visit. Every piece of this build was aimed at that.
Research first
An executive report on the market, the benchmarks and the plan before design began.
Real campus photos
The school's own classrooms and children in every section, never stock.
A page per room
Six program rooms with real daily schedules, from infants to summer camp.
Clear tuition
What is included, full-time rates and free VPK, laid out without fine print.
Local search basics
West Melbourne, Melbourne and Palm Bay in titles, copy and clean new page slugs.
A tour in every section
Schedule a tour or join the waitlist at the end of every part of every page.
Launch
Live October 1. Measured from day one.
The new site went live on October 1, 2026, after the owner’s final review cleared it for launch. The school is not starting from zero: the domain carries a domain authority of 20 and 269 referring domains built up over seventeen years, and before launch Semrush estimated about 409 organic visits a month from 48 ranking keywords. Those are the numbers the new site will be measured against.

After launch
Launch is the starting line.
This case study is being written days after launch, so the search results are still ahead of us. We will update it as the new pages settle in and the local searches parents use start to move.
What we can show today is the build itself: a site that finally looks like the school, written for the parents it serves, with a clear way to book a visit at every turn. Post-launch, we are handling fixes and a clean handoff so the team can run it with confidence.
What it proves
Parents decide online. Show them the real thing.
A child care website is often the first visit a family makes. Mustard Seed Kidz now makes that visit feel like the real one: real rooms, real teachers, real schedules and real reviews, with a tour waiting at the end of every section.
If you run a preschool, daycare or learning center, the same approach is open to you.
