Home builder website design: Ohio Cabins & Structures
A homely website that brings in 3 to 5 leads a day.
This home builder website design case study follows the cabin, tiny home and specialty building brand of Hartville Outdoor Group. We designed a site that feels like the buildings it sells: warm, rustic and welcoming. It went from its first ranking keyword in March 2023 to 2,726 by December 2025, and today, on a lite program, it brings in 3 to 5 leads every day.

Where it started
A new brand for a different buyer.
Hartville Outdoor Group already had Hartville Outdoor Products, the shed and outdoor building dealer we helped grow from $2.5M to $50M in sales. But a family shopping for a cabin, a tiny home or a two story garage is not shopping for a shed. They are picturing a place to live, a weekend getaway, or the workshop they have wanted for years.
So the group launched Ohio Cabins & Structures, right down the road on West Maple Street in Hartville, and asked us to build it a home online. It started from zero. Semrush recorded its very first ranking keyword in March 2023.
The brief was simple: make it feel nothing like a shed lot, and make it rank.

Today
The design
A website that feels like home.
People do not buy a cabin from a spec sheet. They buy the feeling of the porch, the loft and the morning coffee. The design had to sell that feeling before anyone set foot on the lot.
Homely by design
We built the look around the buildings themselves. Warm cream backgrounds instead of stark white. Deep forest green cards and gold buttons that echo cedar, pine and brass hardware. An elegant serif for headings that reads like a hand-lettered sign, and soft botanical line art drifting behind the copy.
The photography shows the buildings themselves on the sales lot: log cabins with porches, gambrel garages, modern tiny homes with walls of glass. A visitor scrolling the homepage is walking the lot.
- Real buildings photographed on the lot, in every section.
- A warm palette and serif type chosen to feel rustic, not corporate.
A page for every building
Each model gets its own page, from the 12×32 Smokey Mountain cabin to the 14×40 tiny home and the Big Boy two story garage. A full width photo, a forest green panel with Request A Quote and View Gallery, then rich copy that walks through the floor plan, the finishes and the way the building will be used.
Galleries for cabins, tiny homes, garages and playhouses let buyers see finished interiors, and every page ends with an invitation to visit the showroom.
144 state pages for a nationwide buyer
Ohio Cabins & Structures ships nationwide, so we built for buyers far beyond Ohio. Cabins for sale, garages for sale and tiny homes for sale, each with its own landing page in 48 states, from Pennsylvania and West Virginia to Arizona and Washington.
That is 144 state landing pages, all in the same warm design, that let a family in Kentucky or Michigan find a cabin builder in Hartville.

283 articles for dreamers and planners
Long before a buyer requests a quote, they are asking questions. Can I put a tiny home in my backyard? How much does it cost to build one? How many tiny homes fit on an acre? Can a modular home sit on a slab? The blog now holds 283 articles that answer them.
Those answers rank, and they lead straight back to the buildings. The cabin cottage page ranks first for “pre built cabins for sale in Ohio”.

Every piece of this site was built to make a big purchase feel personal, and to put it in front of buyers wherever they search.

The lite program
Leads every day, on a lighter plan.
Ohio Cabins & Structures does not run on a heavy SEO campaign. It runs on a lite program. The design, the model pages, the state pages and the library of articles were built to keep working on their own, and they do.
On average the site brings in 3 to 5 leads a day, real people asking about real cabins, tiny homes and garages. That is the payoff of a site designed and structured right from the start: it keeps producing long after the heavy lifting is done.
What it proves
Design sells. Structure ranks.
A builder’s website should feel like the thing it sells. Ohio Cabins & Structures does, and because it was also built with a page for every building, every state and every question, it ranks and it produces leads every day without a heavy campaign behind it.
If you build cabins, tiny homes, garages or any specialty structure, the same approach is open to you.
